FTX Global lights?
FTX Global lights?
Hello,
I don't see any FTX Global streetlights throughout the city of Dubai. Is there a way to make them appear?
Thanks,

Re: FTX Global lights?
disabling cvxDUBAI.bgl might do it, but there will be side effects.

Re: FTX Global lights?
You will also have to delete FT's photo scenery BGL - the day one specifically (I know, it's counter-intuitive). This doesn't look very good though.
What I can tell you is that Taburet makes a good 3d night product for the middle east that works well with FT's wonderful Dubai. It does come at a bit of a VAS and FPS cost although both aspects are much more manageable than other night lighting implementations from both Taburet (their other regions) and Aerosoft. I bought the latter's product for the middle east as well but I didn't like the way it looks. Taburet looks much closer to RL although the light "orbs" are slightly too big while on the ground (I've tinkered with the texture files but just decided to leave well enough alone; I really think it's Taburet's model files that would need to be altered).
Attached are some screenshots with Taburet's product active. IMHO, one of the best and most realistic environments I've ever seen in flightsim.
Lastly, Martin - in the event that OMDB gets an update, how much time would it take to add 3d night lights to it, e.g. like the ones at EKCH?

Re: FTX Global lights?
Thanks for the suggestions, I will try them this weekend.
@ garrettprs, I have heard of that product. In fact what made me start this thread was a YouTube video I saw of a landing at OMDB, with beautiful lights all over, but the description said they were from this Taburet product. I'll have to think about it......

Re: FTX Global lights?
Orbx's lights can also be individually annotated onto our Photoscenery using Annotator from the SDK. For Dubai this would be a ton of work tho.

Re: FTX Global lights?
Ah that's right, because ORBX designed them as autogen (which is why they perform so well).
Re: FTX Global lights?
Would be nice to get Orbx lights back in, the Taburet lights are too fps and vas intensive, my system cannot handle it with AI traffic. Removing the FT bgl files makes the scenery look bad, is there no other option?
Re: FTX Global lights?
Hot topic! I love this scenery to bits but yes the missing ORBX night lighting is a bummer!
Its the same with Simwings Ibiza and Mallorca Evo sceneries...
I havent brought the third party night lighting due basically to the reviews on poor frames!
It would be so good if this was looked at though....in a possible update
