Tree located on RWY07 Threshold? (RESOLVED)

Post by XCLTM3 » Fri Sep 11, 2015 11:10 pm

Hi George,

Please see attached jpeg.

I'm at a loss. I don't recall seeing this before.

Any idea what is going on?

I've made no changes to the Fly Tampa Configurator nor FSX.

PS: I did conduct a search on the forum but did not locate any issue for YSSY/Tree.

Appreciate any assistance.

Thanks & regards,

Steve

Is there any other scenery above Flytampa in your scenery library?

No.

Fly Tampa Sydney at No1.

Fly Tampa Sydney LC at No 2. (Although I've tried moving this file further down the list too but to no avail.

I don't have any other scenery for YSSY.

Try disabling some recent scenery you installed to see if the tree goes away.
Or..
Did you remove the excludes from the afcad or install a new afcad? Re-installing should fix it.

Hi George,

I disabled all other scenery and the tree remained. Haven't touched the afcad at all, since what you produced is pretty perfect for me.

However, when I de-activated "Fly Tampa-Sydney_LC" .....the tree disappeared.

Do I need this file George?

Steve

Hi George,

further to my last post - once I disabled the Fly Tampa-Sydney_LC file - thankfully the tree has gone from the centre of the threshold for 07 - but now there is a different kind of tree on the threshold off to the right?

Checked all other sceneries etc but to no avail.

At least this tree is off centre and kind of out of the way. Not going to run home and cry to momma about it - but if anyone else including George has any ideas, I'd be mighty obliged.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve,

unfortunately I have no idea what may be the cause of your trouble, but maybe I can help narrow down the problem a bit. I have noticed "Cooks River" and "Muddy Creek" are completely missing in your scenery. This is what it should look like:

Judging from your screenshot it appears you are using FTX global. Have you set FTX Global as the active region in your FTX central? Have you applied the latest ftx library updates ?

Hi Matty,

thanks for joining in.

I had to deactivate the Landclass for Fly Tampa YSSY in order to remove the tree from the centre of 07 threshold - having said that, of course that meant that Cooks River & Muddy Creek have now disappeared.

I guess I'll have to reinstate the landclass file and live with the tree until finally I figure out what the hecks going on. The plot thickens.....

PS: I don't have FTX Global. Only FTX Aus SP4 set on FTX Central (along with the the other ORBX Aus airports - but I've also deactivated them to see if they're causing this tree issue but they're not)

This is now screwing with my brain.

I've reactivated the LC file, but still no Cooks River or Muddy Creek?

George, can I ask what my scenery library order should look like within FSX?

Thanks,

Steve

To top it off, I even uninstalled & reinstalled....and no difference.

Instead of water in Cooks River & Muddy Creek, there appears to be streets.

OK folks,

after many hours of banging my head trying to problem shoot this - I sent an email off to George (rather than drag it all out here on the forums). George was very helpful in unlocking this mystery.

It appears that on my initial reinstall that 2 important files from YSSY (possibly from the DAT file) were not being installed.

This was more likely due to an error on my part.

Now thankfully, everything is back to normal looking as gobsmackingly beautiful as George had intended.

I feel a hell of a lot better now.

My most favourite FSX airport and my home town airport....back to normal! Whew!

Rgds,

Steve
