Updated AFCADs for FlyTampa Copenhagen (Version 12)
Updated AFCADs for FlyTampa Copenhagen (Version 12)
**********ONLY APPLIES TO LEGACY v1.4 Copenhagen***************************************
About 12 years ago I bought the old Swedflight scenery for EKCH. I made, what by many AI users was considered as the best AFCAD for EKCH.
It included the correct airlines at the right gates, and also 22R for takeoff only and 22L for landing only. That is the runways used for most of the time of the year (about 65 %).
When the news about a new EKCH scenery was rumored a few years ago I decided that at the time this new scenery was going to be released I would make an AFCAD for that scenery too.
After waiting a few years we finally got the FlyTampa Copenhagen scenery for FSX and P3D.
So this is the promised AFCAD for this scenery. It's Version 13.
I plan to update it with new airlines and also remove old airlines that sometimes might stop flying to CPH.
I've used the AF2_EKCH_FSX(jets)_nw.bgl as a base for this AFCAD.
It includes all gates in the scenery, all of them with appropriate and realistic airline codes.
Gates A4 - A34 and all B gates are used for domestic flights and flights inside the Schengen area (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schengen_Area)
Gates C are used for non-Schengen areas, including all intercontinental PAX flights.
Gates D are used as a mix of domestic, Schengen and non-Schengen flights.
Gates E are usually used as remote parking.
Gates F1 - F9 are for the CPH Go terminal, a low-cost terminal which currently are used by Ryanair, easyJet, easyJet Switzerland and Transavia.
The rest of the F gates are remote parkings for minor airliners like Dash 8, Embraer, CRJ-200 and CRJ-900.
Gates G are used exclusively for cargo.
I've added a few parking spots at the hangars on the Northeast part of the airport. That typical SAS planes that are parked there, because the SAS maintenance hangars are placed there.
The radius for the gates are all edited to match the radius for each AI aircraft type, as described in the
"AIG Aircraft Model and Parking Radius Table". It can be found at AVSIM: aig_aircraft_model_and_parking_radius.zip
I've used the FSX parking radius values. So remember to update the radius for the AI planes you have too. It can be done using the tool
"AI-Aircraft Editor" available from http://www.owlsnest.eu/tools.php
Rename all three files to *.off
AF2_EKCH_FSX(jets)_nw.bgl ---> AF2_EKCH_FSX(jets)_nw.off
AF2_EKCH_FSX(jets_random)_nw.bgl ---> AF2_EKCH_FSX(jets_random)_nw.off
AF2_EKCH_FSX(no_jets)_nw ---> AF2_EKCH_FSX(no_jets)_nw.off
Then add the AFCAD that matches the current wind direction.
Please note that this action will render the 'Jetway Animation' in FlyTampa-Configurator inactive. This means, that all gates (except a few excluded jetways) will permanently get animated jetways".
For using the correct file according to wind direction, please read the following:
AF2_EKCH_FSX_NE.bgl when the wind is blowing from North or East (312 degrees to 131 degrees). In these cases the 04L/04R are used for landing/takeoff respectively.
AF2_EKCH_FSX_SW.bgl when the wind is blowing from South or West (132 degrees to 311 degrees). In these cases the 22L/22R are used for landing/takeoff respectively.
Sadly I can't manage to get 22L used for landings only and 22R used for takeoff only, like I managed to with the Swedflight AFCAD, so quite a few flights will land in 22R which aren't realistic at all, but all AI planes will take off from 22R, which is very realistic.
It seem that when using the 04L/R runways, all planes will be landing at 04L and takeoff from 04R, just like in real life.
Remember to backup your old AFCAD, just in case.

Re: Updated AFCADs for FlyTampa Copenhagen
Hej Johan,
Many thanks for this, but I believe that you may have switched the filenames around. Today we have 090/15 but when I loaded FSX with AF2_EKCH_FSX_NE.bgl active, traffic taxied to 22R for take-off, so I switched to AF2_EKCH_FSX_SW.bgl and then they taxied to 04R for take-off, also saw landings on 04L.
Nevertheless, good work! Now we just need a AF2_EKCH_FSX_RWY12.bgl to force single-runway ops when the winter storms set in
Best regards,
Søren

Re: Updated AFCADs for FlyTampa Copenhagen
Yes, the names of the BGL files are opposite regarding SW/NW, but they work as they should do with landing/take off on the right RWs

Re: Updated AFCADs for FlyTampa Copenhagen
I know about that. I've already fixed it and will in a few days upload an updated version. I've just gone to bed, because I have a bad throat, so I won't be at my computer until I'm ready again.
I won't make a Runway 12 file. It's less than .5% of all flights during the year that land there. So it would be too much work for such a small amount of flights I must say.

Re: Updated AFCADs for FlyTampa Copenhagen
Version 3 uploaded. It fixes the problem mentioned by SierraDelta.
Re: Updated AFCADs for FlyTampa Copenhagen
Yes, that would be cool, - especially for us who grew up w RW 12 and planes almost landing at our house...LOL...SierraDelta wrote:Hej Johan,

Re: Updated AFCADs for FlyTampa Copenhagen (Version 4)
Just copied the NE.bgl to the scenery map but I still get takeoff on 04L and landing on 04R, i had it working before the v1.1 update from flytampa came out.. Any suggestions?
Re: Updated AFCADs for FlyTampa Copenhagen (Version 4)
What is the wind directions when you try?
Re: Updated AFCADs for FlyTampa Copenhagen (Version 4)
I used real weather by ASN and I know they were using 4L and 4R out there, not exactly sure on the direction
Re: Updated AFCADs for FlyTampa Copenhagen (Version 4)
Have you made a backup of the original AFCAD and then moved it to another folder so they don't overlap each other.
Re: Updated AFCADs for FlyTampa Copenhagen (Version 4)
I actually didnt see any AFCAD file before moving yours into it, do you remember the exact name of the original one?
Re: Updated AFCADs for FlyTampa Copenhagen (Version 4)
AF2_EKCH_FSX(jets)_nw.bgl, AF2_EKCH_FSX(jets_random)_nw.bgl or AF2_EKCH_FSX(no_jets)_nw.bgl or the originals. If they are not activated in the Configurator, instead of .bgl they are named .off.
Re: Updated AFCADs for FlyTampa Copenhagen (Version 4)
Had missed (jets_random), fixed now. Thanks a lot johan.
