KMDW Ground replacement textures (Not required!)

The following file contains a set of replacement textures for KMDW meant for lower end systems which might have problems handling huge amounts of textures.

If you are not experiencing any problems with the ground textures do *not* install this update. Installing this update equals downgrading the scenery. The textures that come with KMDW by default are of higher 1024x1024 resolutions, this replacement set contains the same textures in 512x512 resolution. Both sets are in DXT3 format.

Minor side effect: a grid of small seams (lines) will show throughout the airfield. This issue cannot be fixed because the scenery was made with the higher resolution textures in mind.

FlyTampa KMDW textures

To install simply extract the contents of this ZIP archive (27 bmp files) into the "/Addon Scenery/FlyTampa-Midway/texture/" folder.... or to the respective folder where you installed the scenery (overwrite the existing files).

Just out of curiosity, what format are the default MDW (and I'm assuming all other FT airports) textures in?

gunsontheroof: There is no simple answer to that. Ground textures are usually DXT3, so are building textures. While sometimes the texture format one applies to a building wall might be a matter of preference, very often certain textures must be in a specific format.
