Boston V3.2 Patch FSX\FS9

Post by george[flytampa] » Fri Oct 08, 2010 1:22 pm

New 3.2 update adding..

New taxiway layout around Charlie, Delta & Golf.
New painted ground taxiway directional signs on Delta & Mike.
New ground painted markings - 'TAXI' on taxiway Mike. To help pilots not mistake taxiway for a runway.
Gates C12 & C14 shifted from United Airlines to Jetblue Airlines.
Aircraft will now taxi all the way to end of runways 22R & 15R for takeoff. (FSX Only)
Alpha channels added to DXT1 textures to improve performance. (FS9 Only)

You'll need Boston 3.1 already installed. Just unzip & replace the files found in Flightsim\addon Scenery\Fly Boston....

Bert,
The "HS" on airport diagrams means "HOT SPOT" locations. These "HOT SPOTS" are areas where runway incursions are highly likely to occur and for pilots to pay attention to these areas.

Having problems with the scenery on Windows 7 Extreme.

There seems to be a layer problem. All the AI aircraft static or moving are partly underground along with the player aircraft when starting out on the Active.

I received a fresh download and removed the previous installation.

I have attached my DxDiag. Hopes this helps

You probably have an old duplicate AFCAD or are using the Freeware version.
This patch is for the Payware Boston V3.X; which should be installed using the exe installer.
You'll need a valid legal serial number for it to function correctly.

I have met all the requirements for Fly Tampa ver 3.0 including license.
It seems to me I have had problems with previous versions of KBOS on all operating systems except XP MFS 2002.
What BGL belongs in ADDON SCENERY Scenery? I have an AF_2 KBOS.bgl I installed from scratch V3.0 using the exe file along with v 3.1 update. Ver 3.2 update I copied the Scenery and Texture files and replaced the same files in the TAMPA KBOS v3.0 scenery .

Any help will be appreciated!

I found the problem. Way down the scenery list within MSFS I found that Ver2.0 was checked. I guess I did not scroll down far enough. After removing the old version and restarting FS9, all was fine with Tampa KBOS v 3.2.

Thanks!

Just let you guys know that the phrase TAXI IN POSITION AND HOLD is no longer accepted by the FAA. It is now LINE UP AND WAIT.

This went into effect October 1. The controller may tell the next A/C in line for dept that THE AIRCRAFT ON THE RWY IS IN POSITION AND HOLDING!

George, if this is what I think it is, the alpha-less DXT3 textures pose a problem.

Peter van der Veen (of World of AI fame among many other things) has created a utility to seek out alpha-less DXT3 textures recently. It's called AlphaSearcher and I've attached a copy. If you run that on KBOS v3, with updates 3.1 and 3.2 installed, you'll still find some offending textures.

Do you have AES installed?
Try disabling that first. You might have enabled AES for the Blueprint version of Boston. Those don't look like the flytampa jetways.

AES is not available for Blueprint sceneries.

I think I had the same issues after installing KBOS v3 for the first time, because I still had the AES jetways of KBOS v2.1 active. After deactivating the old version of KBOS in AES those jetways were gone!
