i heard that 5000 people were fired by microsoft. also that the people were making the new flight simulator and train simulator. any more news?

It does appear that the entire flight simulator team has been cut by Microsoft.

Can you say "X-Plane?"

Not that X-Plane is better than FSX, in most ways, but X-Plane really has come a long way. It just lacks a few crucial items, like AI Traffic. However I think the guys at Laminar Research are celebrating.

What's wrong with continuing to use FS9 or FSX!
I know some have been waiting to use the full benefits of DX10, but oh well.

Exactly Larry. Just because they are tightening their belts doesn't mean that MSFS will quit working on peoples computers.

So that crap of a simulatior "X" will be the end??

This just can't be!! Maybe this means that 3rd party devlopers will continue to focus on FS9 after all!!!!!!!!

I'm telling you, FS9 may just have got a new lease on life!

either that or they are all going to make fsx addons knowing that, that is the latest version so more people would buy it and buy more fsx addons of that nature. i dont think they will stop making fs2004 addons because too many people still use fs2004 so that would be a waste of money not too make addons for fs2004.
