St Barts chimney Smoke

Post by martin[flytampa] » Sun Apr 15, 2007 4:17 pm

This only applies to the "Complete" package for FS2004.

Save the attached BGL file to Addon Scenery/FlyTampa-Maarten/scenery/
overwriting the existing file.

It will add smoke to the chimney of the large green building you fly over when approaching St Barts (TFFJ).

PS: The small patches that are currently in separate sticky posts will later be put together into a single easy to install update.

Hey Martin, any chance you cuold provide us with a shot of what it should look like? With the smoke effect, just so we know we have it right?

Again, fantastic scenery mate, great work!

Not really, FS9's scenery animation system is just very basic stuff. One can make them wave or rotate the head but something like making them walk around (without it looking crap) is not possible with the SDK methods. For FSX that may be possible in theory .

I think I'll by pass FSX and wait for the next version of FS. By then I hope they have gotten their stuff together and perfected the new technology. Not to mention the prices of these new rigs come down to a more affortable scale. I mean, it cost less money to earn your private pilots license than it cost to get the best system to run FSX, it's crazy!

Are you telling me you're able to move your sliders to the max, see all the candy that FSX has to offer and have superb fps? I doubt it. I'm the type that don't like to compromise full candy effects. I like to have it all, candy and fps, and you can't have both with FSX. To do so, you need the best systems out there, and they do run between $5,000 and $8,000 when it's all set and done. Hell, I got my private pilots license and I paid that much.
