Instrument approach update for 16C/34C

Post by BEFA Pilot » Sun Apr 15, 2007 11:02 pm

I went ahead and updated the AP915150.bgl so ATC will use IAP's instead of just a visual approach with the new runway designation. I'll upload it if anyone wants it and it's ok with the big guys.

Here's the AFCAD I'm using as well. It's not required to make the ATC work but I've adjusted the parking to more currently reflect the way things are now. HAL now uses concourse B. AWE and USA are now using A. FDX MD-11's now should park in the right spot as well as their Cessna 208's and ATR 42. ASA uses some N gates and the S gates have been resized to better work with SAS and NWA Airbuses.

I haven't added MEP yet but they use A7.

I had a little extra time to play with this tonight and was able to get everything into an AFCAD. This AFCAD is all you should need to get the ATC working right. Let me know how it works.

Hey Brian,

This seems to be working great from what I can see. Do you mind if I add it to the C patch?

So, I am using this AFCAD file but ATC still thinks the one runway is visual.

Can you tell me where I might have made a mistake?

Thanks!

Any chance you still have the old AFCAD active?

You should only have one AF2*.bgl active for this airport, so if you still have a file named af2_flytampa_ksea.bgl rename it to af2_flytampa_ksea.old.

No, only the one file. But, here's what I found...
If I attempt to modify the gate assignments at all the one runway will change to visual (at least 16 I don't know about 34). I don't know what that has to do with it but that's all I did.

I have attached the file if you want to take a look.

I think I also noticed a plane getting stuck on the taxiway in at least one spot. The problem is I can't remember exactly where it was.

Looks like when you modify the AFCAD it strips out the approach data. I went ahead and put the information back in your AFCAD. For a long term solution it might make more sense to just replace the base airport information. I've attached both files for you to use. Just make sure to backup your old AP915150.bgl.
