KMDW and Chicago area now Crash to desktop

Post by I132 » Sun Feb 04, 2007 12:32 pm

Hello Gentlemen,

I have enjoyed KMDW for a few months now, but today I am suddenly suffereing CTD's when loading a flight from KMDW, KORD or Miegs.

I have deleted and re-installed KMDW, tried the renaming of the Textures file as suggested in another thread and also tried the optional textures. Still not having any luck.

any suggestions?

Does it do this with the default 172 ?
What other add ons do you have, and give us your system specs.

The best is to track the problem down first. Like Paavo suggested, try a default Aircraft. If it still crashes:

2. Disable AI traffic, try again

3. Deactivate the FlyMidway entry in the scenery database, try again.

4. Deactivate other possible candidates, KORD scenery etc.

At some point in the process the CTD should stop. Let me know

I am having major problems now. :-(

I eventually went to reinstall FS9 and now it crashes before it loads period.

It appears I will have to completely delete all the files and start renstalling everything.

Now idea whatsoever what could have caused this. As of right now it appears to be something much more than KMDW. I really thought reinstalling FS9 would at least get me back to being able to run the sim. Looks like I have several hours of work cut out for me.

Thanks,

Scott

Even when you uninstall there are files left behind, make sure to delete the fs9.cfg file. Do you get any error message when it crashes ?
What type of crash is it, CTD, BSOD, ?
Don't forget after a reinstall to update fs9 to fs9.1, do this before you install any add ons.
