Has anyone used this AFCAD file yet, and are you having any problems with it? So far, the thing I've noticed is that I see SWA parked at ATA parking spots. I didn't see that before. :?

Maybe gate assignments changed at KMDW? Not sure how that is all working down there now, with ATA more or less a SWA subsidiary.

His readme says he didn't touch the parking assignments, so who knows?

SWA Parking with new afcad

Post by Capt.Ed » Sun Aug 20, 2006 9:07 am

I have noticed when I updated my Ultimate Traffic schedule for summer 2006 that there is more SWA jets parked over by the ATA terminal also.
I dont think this is a problem because of SWA now owning ATA and are taking over some of their flights.

Dont worry,its normal.

That is the most likely answer, because I too have the summer 2006 update for Ultimate Traffic. Thanks for your inputs! :D

Or it could simply be inaccurate parking code lines in the UT cfg files. :P
I certainly wouldn't call it normal because in my non-UT traffic, my stuff is parking at the right spots.

It's a codeshare, ATA is not owned by WN.

Or more likely just that there are more SWA flights in the new schedules than the AFCAD can support. Once FS9 fills all available SWA spots with aircraft and there are more planes to put in, it starts putting them at other parking locations until the airport is full.

If I remeber right TZ gave WN some of their gates in the codehare deal.

Southwest paid for those gates, it was part of the bankruptcy reorganization. SWA outbid AirTran for them.
