FPS low
I've turned off all option and installed the "lite" textures but I cannot get above 20FPS, yet in CYUL I can get like 50 no problem, whats going on? I've tried several installs.
Re: FPS low
Maybe if you remember to post your computer info u might get some help. sigh.
I'm getting 40+ with REX & PMDG NGX. Smooth as silk baby.

Re: FPS low
50 fps at CYUL and less then 20 at CYYZ seems odd. Its true that CYYZ is slower then CYUL, but the only way I see such a high difference is if I run CYUL without AI and CYYZ with 100% AI. Below 4 comparison shots I took while looking at the slowest areas in the airports, each taken without AI and with 100% AI. At CYYZ the AI impact is much higher, probably because there are more AI overall.
Let me know if you running with or without AI and perhaps test if the fps change dramatically depending on what you look at/heading and as a test check fps after deactivating/unchecking the FlyTampa-Toronto entry in the Scenery Library.
fps figures from shots (running DX9 mode, I7@3.9 GTX670)
CYUL w/o AI: 51
CYUL 100% AI: 38
CYYZ w/o AI: 42
CYYZ 100% AI: 25

Re: FPS low
I don't use AI though. Can we turn the cars off somehow in the parking lots?
Re: FPS low
Fakeflyer is it still a smooth experience when flying?
People get too caught up in the need for higher FPS in FSX but its not always necessary..
I can at times get 9-12 fps when on finals into ORBX Brisbane, with the Aussie regions installed, ASN, Rex plus AI set to 45% and my flight is still as smooth as silk with no issues...
And my rig is a
i7 4790k 4.0ghz overclocked 4.7ghz
Maximus VII Hero Z97 LGA 1150 motherboard
EVGA Geforce GTX980 ACX 2.0 Superclocked 4GB
G.SKILL TridentX 16GB (2x 8GB) DDR3 2400MHz
850W 80 plus gold PSU
S850 evo 500GB SSD,(dedicated to FSX)
Noctua NH-D15 Multi-Socket PWM CPU Cooler

Re: FPS low
You'll gain more dialling back the Autogen or Ai aircraft. Also, check you don't have water reflections, bloom or ground scenery shadows enabled.fakeflyer737 wrote:I don't use AI though. Can we turn the cars off somehow in the parking lots?
Toronto is actually WAY more optimized than Montreal. TOR just sits in a more frame intensive area.

Re: FPS low
I'm also experiencing just under 10 FPS in the daytime, even when using Preview DX10, Lite Texture Pack, pretty much nothing ticked in the configurator, being very stringent with what I add in.
My system is as below:
Case: ATX Tower with Corsair 750w PSU
Motherboard: MSI X58 PRO-E
CPU: Intel i7 940 Quad Core (2.93Ghz)
Hard Disk: Samsung 1TB 32Mb Cache
Graphics Card: NVidia 285 GTX 1Gb DDR3
Memory: Corsair 12Gb Tri Channel 1600Mhz
DVD Drive: 22x DVD Re-Writer Dual Layer SATA
Monitor: 2 x NEC Multisync EA241WM (1920 x 1200)
Sound Card: Creative Audigy Extreme Audio X-Fi
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate – 64 bit
Extras: Corsair Hydro Series H50 CPU Cooler
Now it's not Totally disastrous... But maybe a little more Frames would be nice in the daytime?
Would appreciate some advice, thank you

Re: FPS low
I'm seeing excellent performance with a default Toronto installed and everything ticked. I'm not using the lower textures and I have FTXG + FTX Vectors and I'm rendering FPS 25+ smooth FPS. At night I get even better performance.
I have a 2600K OC to 4.7 and a gtx660ti 3gig card. Poor performance could be system related.
BTW: This is an excellent rendition of Toronto. Thank you FlyTampa for another great airport.

Re: FPS low
2 thingsto check. "Ground Scenery Cast Shadows" has to be off in FSX. I compiled most of Toronto's models with the Shadow flag enabled in order for P3D to be able to render its shadows. FSX's shadows are an older system and cost a lot of performance.
Also check the regular "Scenery Complexity" slider. During some point in Beta we found that turning it to Very-Sparse, or Sparse increased Performance a lot. This wasn't related to our Airport however, it was something within the greater Toronto Area causing the drag. I analyzed this for days, excluding the default downtown highrises, marinas, nearby airport builldings etc, but never found out what the culprit was. If you see a very large improvement on "Very Sparse", let me know. (Again, Scenery Complexity slider, not Autogen).
