Hi,

Flying in and out of Toronto recently, I found that most taxiway signs aren't lit up (i.e., the common sign backlighting that we all know and see), but instead the letters THEMSELVES are lit up by rows of LED lights. So effectively, at night, almost all taxiway signs are just rows of LED lights lighting up the letters themselves (and not a backlighting, this is the LED lights themselves aligned in the form of the letters. These LED lights aren't blinding bright either; they're faint and dull, but just visible enough to be seen clearly when you're about 10 seconds away from arriving to that sign.

The LED letter coloring is as follows:
AMBER - Taxiway position (e.g., if you're on A, the lighting for A is amber), APCH signs (e.g., 24L APCH).
WHITE - Directional signs (e.g., "↑A B↑" where taxiways A and B kink over to the right)

I wasn't sure if you would be interested in implementing that into the Toronto Scenery, but that's what the real Toronto airport taxi signage looks like. I have pictures as well, but they're too blurry to make anything out of them because planes are too shakey.

(Another thing I should mention is that the LED lighting doesn't apply to CAT II and hold short signs; those entire signs are still backlit, probably to maintain some form of minimum compliance with the ICAO standard).

EDIT: Here's the best photo I have of a sign:

Quick and easy texture update to test. More complex changes that only affect certain types of sign will probably require more work.

Replace file in /FlyTampa/Toronto/texture/

Won't be at my simming computer for the next 4 months, but if someone's willing to share a screenshot of what that texture looks like, I can provide some feedback!

Thanks, Martin!

EDIT: Better yet, you can find a few towards the end of this video:

I'll be flying this Tuesday. I can grab a better shot. But from what I've seen, they're more like the attached..(coincidentally I've been working on it tonight before coming here).

There are variations to these signs though...some of them have LED lite letters, while several have the standard back lite type. Albeit the lit letters are far more common.

Hi Martin,

This is what I'm getting after installing the texture...

Almost like the new textures aren't applied for text and removing the old textures...

That looks about right, not sure what you are pointing out.
