Poor Performance

Hi guys,

Sorry to be the first, but is anybody getting very poor performance at certain areas of the scenery?

I initially put the config settings to the default (don't usually have issues with performance at flytampa, why now?) and ran it. I am used to 26-30fps in the VC of most aircraft and I have been using it like this for years.

Below, I took the A2a for a spin to have a look at the scenery. I noticed awful performance (notice spot view where I very rarely see anything under 30fps locked.) so I lowered the settings and tried again. Same issue, which is particularly noticed around the hangers.

My feelings is that it is copenhagen city.. Do we have to have it installed?

Any other parts you'd specifically see this? is this only when around that area?
City should not affect your FPS that much; try disabling AESLite traffic (all boxes unticked) from the configurator, as a first measure.

I'm also experiencing these issues. Especially when the view is on the Gates, I drop down to about 9 Frames. Never had any issue with FlyTampa sceneries and I'm usually running the PMDG 777 with weather and at big airports around 20 - 30 frames. I tried the configurator and set everything to the lowest setting, made absolutely no difference at all strangely.

i have the same problem.

But i think the drops are caused from something on the airport area. If i fly towards the city i get 30fps locked but as soon as i turn my view to the airport my fps drops very low.

I tried with disabling AESLite. I think it helped a bit but the drops are still there.

Agreed.

More testing suggests that it is something in the center of the airfield.

FPS drop significantly.

Tree's city aes etc etc. don;t make a difference.

Looking at the airport will always cause a slight drop, but never seen that big a difference for CPH.
Are you using any AI traffic for testing?
have you tried disabling all animated jetways, i.e. make all jetways static?

In my case I tested with no weather, no traffic, everything set to the lowest setting in the configurator including no animated jetways and so on. Looking away from the terminal I have 30 locked. looking at the terminal I have 9 frames.

I'll test the jetway setting now..

Yeah me neither.

For my sanity, I went to Taxi2gate Orlando and Dubai and 30fps (not a drop less) in both VC and spot applications with the piper (pictured in first post)

EDIT: Changing the airbridge setting doesn't change the performance issue

Unlimited is the same and I do have Highmemfix and bufferpools=0.

I can bet good money that they are not the issue here. The issue is with the scenery or we would have issues at FLytampa Dubai, Taxi2gate UK2000 etc. etc.

Tested with unlimited, locked internally and externally, no change. fsx.cfg is tweaked quite a bit, will look all the tweaks up, but FSX was working fine with this cfg the last months.

I am sorry to tell that I don't have any fps issues at the gates with the NGX. 30 locked in spot view and 20-30 in VC.
