Hi George,

This is the first FT scenery I'm having problems with for a long period of time as P3D is crashing all the time at CYUL without mentioning what is the reason for CTD. I'm not a novice on the FS Arena and I'm pretty much aware how the sim behaves. I have been flying in V4 in Europe with tons of other sceneries and had zero problems using NGX, AS2016, FTX stuff etc. Only CYUL has the CTD issues on either start-up, departure or approach.

I have the scenery installed according the instructions with the patch applied and old PAPI disabled. I also applied LowRes texture pack, disabled Halo, 3D Grass, Windsocks, 3d people...nothing helps.

Would really appreciate if you look into the patch again as I believe that something must be missing or coded incorrectly as CYUL have been working perfectly in FS2004, FSX, P3DV3..

My specs are i7-6700k OC to 4.7, GTX980Ti, 16GB RAM, 2TB SSD

Would appreciate your help.

Where is it crashing? Night or day? Tried another aircraft?

No idea what it could be currently.

Both night and day. NGX, 747 and 777 from PMDG. Have to mention that FT EHAM and EKCH work flawlessly with 100% AI and other heavy conditions.

Typical scenarios for a crash.

Scenario 1. Load NGX at CYUL, swith to slew mode to move it into a gate, slightly raise it over the ground level and boom...P3D exits,

Scenario 2. Load NGX, switch it into slew mode and without raising it, put NGX into the gate I want, go through full set-up with FS2Crew, get a clearance, taxi, ready for T/O, starting to T/O, at approximately 2,000 P3D exits.

Scenario 3. Approaching 24L with T7, within 15 miles on G/S P3D exits.

Bottom line - suspect corrupted texture or faulty autogen.

Sorry, I can't replicate a crash using any of your scenarios. I only have the T7, no NGX, I've been flying it around for 30 mins.

Have you tried another ac type?

I doubt the textures are corupt or faulty autogen. You can test that by removing all the dds files & see if it still crashes & turn off autogen.

Maybe the PMDG is just fragile under V4. Mines had uncountable CTDs elsewhere.

One last thing to try. Just move Montreal up the scenery Database to force P3D to rebuild the database. Sometimes that can help in P3D.

George,

I understand your point. However it could be a valid explanation (PMDG theory) if I were having crashes at the other, more demanding sceneries. CYUL has been always easy on both FPS and VRAM, I don't know what happened with it in P3Dv4.

Hope the solution will be found one day, but for now it's useless in P3Dv4.

Very similar pattern of crashes. P3D just exits, no CTD window, no nothing.

George,

Does new ADE for CYUL (I see i was dated 05/31/17) has something to do with P3Dv4 scenery elements? in other words, was it updated for P3DV4 specific needs? In fact, I'm still using the one created for P3Dv3 and perhaps this is the issue. The chance is slim, but I must test all the theories.

I doubt it will matter. You could try removing it to see if you still get the CTD.

Dimon -

don't you want to switch the papi lights (files) on again ... it was suggested to turn the files off at LOWW and then P3D4 crashed all the time - I switched the files back on and voila, LOWW works day and night. No logic, no explanation, it just works.

Try it and let us know.

I am having the same issue regardless of what aircraft I am using.

If I load the default Raptor at Gate 57, go to outside view and then pan towards Rwy 06R, P3D crashes.

One thing I am testing and so far seems to work is to activate the animated grass. There is a bit of stuttering when panning towards Rwy 06R, but P3Dv4 doesn't crash.

Strange thing is that if I go to Gate 56 or 58 without activating animated grass, P3Dv4 doesn't crash.

hello, I have the same problem, since the V4 with any plane, crash of CYUL P3D, for no reason. By cons two other friends also have your landscape and the same addon as me and they have nothing ..

Going to chime in here as well to report I am having crashes at CYUL in V4. I have followed the instructions as per the V4 patch notes. No dice. Any ETA on a solution? Appears multiple users are reporting this now.

Okay, I may have found a solution. No crashing the last time I loaded up Montreal and slewed around. Make sure the FlyTampa Libraries are above Montreal. I also turned off 3D Grass. Will try and confirm later today that I'm still getting no crashes.

I just disable the grass and checked that the library is well above and I still have a crash ..
