AFCAD for FS9

Post by ch00scd » Tue Aug 02, 2011 6:43 am

Hi George,

I've bought your new Athens scenery a couple of minutes ago and it looks amazing. There are only two minor issues that I would like to address: it seems that there is something wrong with the AFCAD file in FS9 because:
a) Lee Swordy's AFCAD software doesn't recognize the file AF2_LGAV; it only finds the stock afcad file for LGAV. When I am looking for the file path manually, then it finds the file but I think it should find it also directly by just typing in LGAV like it does with other addon airports.
b) When I am choosing a gate or parking ramp in FS9, it always says "military" so I think the parking spots are wrongly coded.

Is it possible to get a new afcad file without the issues mentioned above? Thanks a lot in advance.

Kind regards,

Daniel

Try this one. I'd failed to convert the gate types from the FSX version.
ADE can load it but AFCAD2 couldn't. It can load this version attached tho.

Also you need to delete LGAV_ADE9_ADE.BGL.

So just delete LGAV_ADE9_ADE.BGL & replace AF2_LGAV.BGL with the one attached.
Let me know if this works please.

Checked the new FS9 AFCAD and in using the "Fault Finder" it shows a lot of mistakes.
Is this some thing that has been overlooked.

Have several of your FS9 Airports and am hoping to add Athens which looks fantastic on the photo's however from past experience with many developers I do not want to keep updating sceneries especially just after they are released.

That is the reason I have not downloaded LGAV yet as I usually wait in case the scenery needs a few alterations as in many new sceneries.
However I feel that many developers are put under pressure from customers to release products which are still in the final stage but not 100% checked for possible issues however small.

Hello George,

Thanks for the new AFCAD file. I checked it in FS9 and there are no military parking spots anymore so this issue is solved. Unfortunately the fault finder in the AFCAD software indeed finds dozens of faults but I didn't spend enough time at the airport to see which influence they have on the AI traffic (as far as I see the aircrafts are taxiing correctly; should I see that something is wrong, I will report back to you).

Kind regards,

Daniel

Thanks guys for the help. I didn't run the fault finder. I forgot it was even there since I made the freeware Boston. The AFCAD was tested just by watching it flow for 10s of hours.

I've amended the file & it should be free of 'fault finder faults'.

I bought it through Simmarket.

Just downloaded and installed, looks fantastic and it made my day especially because it is for both FS9 & FSX.
However I got two afcads in FS9, LGAV_ADE9_ADE.BGL & AF2_LGAV.BGL which had all the faults I mentioned.
Have replaced these with the "up-dated" AF2_LGAV.BGL shown on the forum.
As others may download through Simmarket maybe you can correct this Afcad issue.

PS . Have other Airports of yours, any chance of an up-grade of Miami and Dubai for FS9 and a new FSX.

Thanks to all at Fly Tampa and especially to you Martin for your quick replies even though you cannot always help.

Hi George,

The new AFCAD works fine. There is just a minor issue that I would like to let you know in case that you intend to publish an update or patch for this scenery. There is a gate called "Gate 10" but after checking Athens ground chart, I assume that it should be "Gate B7". Of course, I could correct this myself with ADE but I thought that you might be interested to know.

Kind regards,

Daniel
