CTD in Ahtens in X-Plane 11.50b12

Post by WebMaximus » Sun Jul 05, 2020 6:38 am

Just landed in Athens and during approach, I received a popup message in X-Plane something was wrong with the Athens scenery.

After I landed and while taxiing to gate, X-Plane crashed to the desktop. Checking log.txt, I found these lines at the end. Not fully sure what the plugin referred to as AOS in log.txt is. I do know I haven't manually installed any such plugin but thinking it might be related to SAM...? As for SAM, I'm on version 2.08.

Re-install it via the universal installer. That error effects Vulkan but it should have been fixed in the latest build.

OK, thanks!

Will give it a try but I already ran the universal installer saying 1.0 was the latest version available. And I'm already on that version.

Are you saying there is a later build even when the version number is still 1.0?

And a follow-up question.

As seen in the screenshot below, it says Athens but then LGKR. I assume that is just a typo?

Also as mentioned in my last post, the only version I have to pick is 1.0. Which is a bit confusing if it indeed is a later build/version available. Would have made sense to call it 1.01 or whatever to differentiate it from the original version, no?

Yeah, we updated the file but not the version number.

Can confirm re-running the installer for LGAV addressed the issue.

However as mentioned, do consider also changing the version nr when you're changing something in the scenery. To give people a chance to know you changed something when checking the version in the installer. Especially for changes as important as this one to address a CTD issue.
