Montreal Preview Three
A few previews, this time showing off static objects & features unique to Montreal.
We have a Static CRJ with custom soft shadowing. Inspired by Orbx's recent excellent aircraft shadows.
I wish AI Aircraft could have shadows this nice.
Montreal is home to Bombardier's headquarters and aircraft factory so I needed a few CRJs.
A new Mobile Lounge Bus(I call it Whale Bus). This one is mainly for forum member Didier (CSTT-KLAS). He never gave up requesting it.
Finally, just like we were first to include accurate baked shadows in a FSX scenery. I think this is another first.
'Reflective puddles'.
Its a little tricky to appreciate them without any motion, but the screenshot should give you a good idea.
I've also recently modelled the Aircraft spotting area, Jacques de Lesseps Park. Not pictured.
Enjoy.

Re: Montreal Preview Three
Would those vehicles in the last two pictures happen to be the bus-like jetways? Those are so cool! Anyways, can't wait!

Yep that's them. I don't think they are that common any more. Dulles (KIAD) also has them.DMacAir wrote:Would those vehicles in the last two pictures happen to be the bus-like jetways? Those are so cool! Anyways, can't wait!

Great job George as always! Really looking forward to this one!
Also should the fps at this one be comparable to the one at LGAV?

Aren't they for transport between terminals, though?george[flytampa] wrote:Yep that's them. I don't think they are that common any more. Dulles (KIAD) also has them.DMacAir wrote:Would those vehicles in the last two pictures happen to be the bus-like jetways? Those are so cool! Anyways, can't wait!
Re: Montreal Preview Three
Hi -They are only used for ferrying passengers to planes parked at remote stands. Actually I think they were all brought over from the Mirabel airport which in the mid 70's was to become Montreal's only international airport. I recall Mirabel had no gates as such and these bus/jetways were the only means for passengers to access the planes.
Cheers

Re: Montreal Preview Three
I think at Montreal, although I'm not sure, they just transport passengers from the Ramp/Aeroquay to the main terminal.
Is there a underground tunnel between the Aeroquay & Main terminal? I guess not if they need these big buses.
The bus can dock to the side of a plane like a jetway if it wishes. I remember riding one at JFK when I was really young.

Hi George,
Not sure what the Aeroquay would be but there is an undeground tunnel going from the main terminal to the mini terminal building shown on the left in your first picture. I recall using this passage way to access the turboprops travelling to the maritime provinces and other more remote areas.
Cheers

Re: Montreal Preview Three
Those "reflective puddles" look great. I would pay a fortune to see that in other FT sceneries, too.
Re: Montreal Preview Three
Nice, SHOCKED and AMAZED. I've been away for a while...looks like its time to start checking in every week now...this baby getting close to my CC. I'm going to leave it by my desktop so when it drops my CPU can grab the number and make the purchase
Excellent work George as always.

Re: Montreal Preview Three
We took some extra steps in early development to make this scenery easier to convert to FS9. The FS9 version will be attempted after the FSX version is completed. Customers will get both version for one price. At least thats the plan for now.yan1545 wrote:Finaly what happen with the fs9 version ??
Re: Montreal Preview Three
Thanks for the previews!
So much details and performance even better than LGAV?
I remember at CDG they also used such kind of "travelling jetways"
Best regards,
Axel
