Update & new plans

Post by george[flytampa] » Tue Aug 09, 2011 2:30 pm

Thanks to you guys for all the support recently. Fly Athens was really well received &
the Greek flightsim community has been really supportive.

I'll be releasing a 1.1 patch for both FSX & FS9 in a week or two. Most the issues addressed are for the FS9 version.

Regarding potential new projects; I originally planed a smaller US airport which was Spokane KGEG. Unfortunately its not possible anymore due to reasons I'd rather not discuss.

The new front runners are...

Montreal CYUL
Helsinki EFHK
Prague LKPR
Phuket VTSP

Thoughts & comments welcome.

Evening FT

Ive always said in the past that Bangkok Intl is begging for a FT makeover, but Phuket is my vote otherwise!

Well, that's quite the interesting list. As much as I bag on CSTT, I'd love to see a CYUL you produce. I think that also makes the most sense economically with Prague also up there in terms of what I would think would be more profitable.

That said, there are plenty of other smaller fields in the U.S. that could use a FlyTampa makeover....*cough*KBUR*cough* :P

Some great selections to choose from. I would like to see Montreal CYUL as the next. Canada seems to have been over looked for several years at this point. There is a good Helsinki (I think freeware) already, and Aerosoft is doing Prague. With that said, my first choice would be Montreal CYUL, and second choice would be Phuket VTSP.

Unless you would like to take on KIAH! ;)

After all, KIAH is pretty small if you're looking at it from 30,000 ft. :P

As the European market is plagued by a lot airports, I vote for Montreal CYUL :)

Very interesting choices!
I am always positively surprised when you guys are doing a medium to large airport!

I would list according to relevance like this:

CYUL = Why? Because virtually no airport in Canada has been made in quality forth taking note of. Descent NGX traffic in and out and even PMDG 777 future traffic.

EFHK= Scandinavia has been looked over and Finland especially. Right now Finnair is making a move at the market for routes to Asia. BUT the traffic besides Finnair is not very interesting. Not to forget amazing winters.

VTSP= Personal favorite although it's simple structure the destination sees a lot of interesting intl. traffic as well as long haul types flying from Bangkok. Plus side would be your touch to the beach close to the runway threshold and the surrounding terrain.

Prague= this city is very popular for weekend holiday makers in Europe, and it would be nice if some of the city would be visible in the vicinity of the airport. Also the traffic has become fairly interesting in the past years. But personally I place this lower as the destination and airport lacks appeal to me.

My two cents

My vote is for CYUL. Canada needs some high qauilty payware scenery and Montreal would be a great start.

Thanks very much for letting us have a say in your next project
