Re: Low FPS in FS2004
I've attached two screenshots. They show the main view towards the blue sky and a secondary view towards the ground. The first shows the OMDB ground and the second some ground a few miles north of OMDB. As you can see the OMDB shot has half the FPS compared to the other one, even though there is pre...

Re: Sydney YSSY Preview One
But surely we should be letting FS2004/FS9 slide gently into history by now. At some point there has to be an announcement that FSX and Win8 are the foundations of the future? FSX is from 2006, so almost 8 years old. I'm not so sure that it's a foundation of the future. If you're into airliner flig...

Re: St Maarten Version 1.5 (FSX & P3D)
Great news!
Will there be an update for the FS9 version as well?
Obviously only some of the changes would apply. Mostly the terminal/ramp changes and the runway lighting I suppose.

Oh that's just because I've modified the AFCAD that came with your scenery. No other AFCAD.george[flytampa] wrote: The Ai planes(nice collection btw) are in the wrong parking spots. So i'd say theres a high chance you still have another old Montreal afcad active somewhere.

Re: CYUL Bugs
Hi, what an amazing scenery!! But after a flight from the excellent Freeware CYVR scenery I get this... I'm running a heavily modified FS9 using UT and FSGlobal 2005. CYUL.JPG There were some other elevation issues around the threshold of 6L already which I managed to fix using a flatten in ADE. I'l...

Which kind of defeats the point of eye candy in the first place, i.e. making the simulator more believable.ashy wrote:TheBoeingMan wrote: Dubai runs like a dream under FSX with all aircraft i have used so far, providing AI traffic isn't used.

Re: Scenery parts disappear when moving closer...
Hmm maybe this is related somehow to my observation in the low fps performance thread where minimal changes in the viewing angle almost halved the FPS?

Re: Low FPS in FS2004
That's a real shame since as you said yourself, performance of FSX is awful with full AI and likely will remain so since that part of the code doesn't scale at all with the number of cores. Therefore for me it's not really an alternative to FS9 for the PMDG/Level-D OMDB to EGLL kind of flight simula...

Re: Low FPS in FS2004
Looking at the systems these gentlemen are running, I'd say the problem is with obsolete hardware. This scenery is beautifully detailed, don't expect the developer to work miracles for you because your stuck using grandma's old computer. Martin's NV460 is about 20% faster than my 6850 according to ...

Re: Low FPS in FS2004
Yes, in this particular spot I get an almost 50% increase in FPS by changing the angle by less than one degree. I've never seen anything like this ever before in FS9.

Re: Low FPS in FS2004
Thanks Martin, but I don't think the terminal is the issue. Sure, it costs an FPS or two but I don't think it is what causes this scenery to be slow. But what the reason is - I don't know. Spot the difference between the next two shots, except for the minimally different angle (both HDG 087) and the...
